Instructions for Windows Vista (in brief)
- There is Wi-Fi coverage in most areas of the university.
- Click on Start -> Connect To -> Set up a connection or network.
- On the window that opens choose Manually connect to a wireless network and then Next.
- Insert the following:
- Network name: AUEB-Wireless
- Security type: WPA-Enterprise
- Encryption Type: TKIP.
- Leave Security Key/Passphrase blank.
- Check Start this connection automatically
- Click on Next and select Change connection settings.
- On the windows that opens select the Security tab, select Protected EAP (PEAP) in the network authentication method and press Settings.
- Uncheck Validate server certificate
- Make sure that in Select Authentication Method the option Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2) is checked, and click the Configure button.
- Uncheck Automatically use my Windows logon name and password.
- Click OK in all open configuration windows.
- After a few seconds, down and right on your screen you will see the message "Additional information is required to connect to AUEB-Wireless."
- Clicking on it, a new window appears; enter the following:
User name: aueb
Password: wireless
Logon domain remains empty
- Click OK
- Your computer is connected to AUEB-Wireless, but still there is no connection to Internet.
- In order to gain access to any service you should start a Web browser (like Internet Explorer or Firefox).
- In Security Alert that follows click Yes. Now you should see the Authentication form.
- In that form give your username and your password
- Finally click on Login.
