The Athens University of Economics and Business and the University of International Business and Economics (Beijing, China) jointly organize the International Conference "Leadership and Management in a Changing World: Lessons from Ancient East and West Philosophy".

Focusing on central management areas, this conference will present developments and innovative approaches to management and leadership inspired by or in any other way enlightened by philosophical considerations both from the Eastern and Western schools of thought.

It aims to bring to the surface key ideas of ancient philosophy and history, and identify how these relate to modern management and leadership in a cross-cultural perspective. Managers, policy makers, and educators will significantly benefit from participating in this unique venue that aims at debating how substantial improvements in management practice can be achieved.

Keynote & Invited Speakers are Prof. Xu Jialu (President of the International Association for Chinese Language Teaching, Vice Chairman of the 10th National People's Congress Standing Committee), Prof. Sir Geoffrey Lloyd (University of Cambridge), Prof. Thomas Donaldson (Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania), Prof. Shi Jianjun (President of the University of International Business and Economics, Beijing), Prof. Liu Chuansheng (Chair of Beijing Normal University Council), Sir Paul Judge (President of the Association of MBAs), Danah Zohar (Oxford Academy of Total Intelligence), Prof. Yang Huilin (Vice-President of Renmin University), Prof. Chung-ying Cheng (University of Hawaii), Prof. Tu Weiming (Director, Institute for Advanced Humanistic Studies at Peking University, Research Professor at Harvard University) and Prof. Haridimos Tsoukas (University of Warwick, University of Cyprus).

The themes of the conference include but are not restricted to:

More than 60 speakers, academics, and executives from all over the world will present their papers. Selected papers will be considered for publication in a special issue of the Journal of Management History.
