Ioannis Kontoyiannis, Professor of AUEB's Department of Informatics who received the honorable distinction of IEEE Fellow Member for his contribution to data compression is one of the five Greek scientists who have received the honorable distinction for the year 2011, and one of the 105 Greek scientists who have received the distinction from the establishment of IEEE.
