Dr. Panagopoulos is currently an Assistant Professor of Marketing and the Director of the Sales & Customer Management Research Unit of the Athens Laboratory for Research in Marketing at the Athens University of Economics & Business. He has been a visiting lecturer at Northern Illinois University, Helsinki School of Economics and Eastern Finland University. His research, teaching, and consulting interests revolve around personal selling & sales management, customer relationship management (CRM), business-to-business marketing, buyer-seller relationships, company-stakeholder relations, and advanced analytical techniques. He has provided his consulting and corporate training services to a large number of organizations while he is a frequent author of articles for practitioners? outlets and a speaker at national conferences.

His work has been published in scientific journals such as the International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Business Research, European Journal of Marketing, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Journal of Selling & Major Account Management, International Journal of Customer Relationship Management, as well as in the proceedings of international conferences both in the EU and the US.

He is a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management, Industrial Marketing Management, and the Journal of Selling & Major Account Management, while he serves as a reviewer in various journals, such as the Journal of Business Research, the European Journal of Marketing, the Journal of Business & Industrial Marketing, the Journal of Marketing Management, and the Marketing Education Review. He has co-edited two special issues in the (a) Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management entitled "The Role of Social Media in Personal Selling and Sales Management" (forthcoming, in collaboration with Adam Rapp) and (b) Industrial Marketing Management entitled "Selling & Sales Management" (in collaboration with George Avlonitis). He was Conference co-Chair of the 2nd Global Sales Science Institute Conference, while he has served as a track chair or discussant in the Academy of Management Meeting and the Winter's AMA Conference. He has been a leader of the Global Sales Barometer, a research initiative aimed at benchmarking sales best practice for practitioners across the world. He is a member of the American Marketing Association, the European Marketing Academy, the Academy of Marketing Science, the Greek Marketing Academy, and a founding member of the Global Sales Science Institute.

Dr. Panagopoulos has recently published a book on SFA and sales-based CRM technologies entitled "Sales technology: Making the most of your investment" (Business Expert Press, New York) while he has contributed one chapter in an international book entitled "Sales Management: A Multinational Perspective" (Palgrave Macmillan, UK).
