Christina I. Tarnanidou is a Lecturer of Commercial and Financial Law at the Business Administration Department of the Athens University of Economics and Business (2012).

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Law from the School of Law of the Faculty of Law, Economic and Political Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1995). After her postgraduate studies in Commercial Law and Financial Law (1998) in the same University and in England (1998), she obtained a PhD in Derivatives Law (2006).

She is a legal counsel of the Greek Exchange since 1999 (Derivatives Exchange, Athens Derivatives Clearing House, Athens Stock Exchange, Hellenic Exchanges) and a project manager in a series of regulatory projects and reforms related to the Exchange and its infrastructures including the projects of MiFID compliance, EMIR compliance, CSDR compliance and others. Her activities refer also to a series of regulatory drafting suggestions including the statutory changes on clearing and settlement (L. 3606.2007, part. II), the changes and reviews on the rulebooks of the Exchange, the Clearing House and CCP, to her participation in the projects of Target2, as supported by the Bank of Greece, for the Exchange and the Greek CSD, to her participation in the European Central Bank?s legal groups (TCI Group) on Target2Securities (T2S) as a legal representative for Greece and others. She represented the Greek Exchange in many committees and authorities in Greece and abroad (Hellenic Capital Market Commission, Bank of Greece, European Central Bank, European Commission) on issues related to capital markets and the financial system. Recently, she is delegated as a national expert of the Greek Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2014 related to the financial services sector.

Since 1999 she carries out as a legal expert seminars in the Exchange related to capital markets, while since 2005 she participates in postgraduate programs of the Athens University of Economics and Business and teaches relevant courses.

She is an author of many articles, monographs and legal opinions published in academic journals including Financial Regulation and Compliance, Butterworths Journal of International Banking and Financial Law, International Financial Law Review, Commercial Law Review (Greek journal), Enterprise and Company Law (Greek journal), Financial Law (Greek Journal) etc.

Her research interests are focused on issues related to exchange and capital markets law, financial collaterals and shadow banking issues, corporate governance, as well as to the legal framework of the energy markets as exchanges.
